I have added a new page to the Democracy Law Blog to list all the social media accounts of the election authorities in Canada. You can find the Social Media page under the Resources tab.
Here’s what I learned….
3 election authorities have no social media presence: Elections New Brunswick, Elections PEI, and Elections Yukon.
Twitter is the most popular social media tool for election authorities. All the other 11 election authorities have a Twitter account.
5 provincial authorities (BC, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec) and 2 territorial authorities (NWT, Nunavut) have Facebook pages.
Elections Canada, along with 5 provincial authorities (BC, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia) have a Youtube account.
Elections Quebec has a google plus account but I didn’t count how many others have one because does anyone really use google plus?
