Elections Nova Scotia Announces Compliance Agreements with Nova Scotia NDP Caucus

Elections Nova Scotia has announced that it has entered into two more compliance agreements involving illegal election advertising during a by-election.

The acting Chief of Staff and the Chair of the Nova Scotia NDP Caucus have acknowledged contravening the Election Act in the exact same matter as the Nova Scotia Liberal Caucus, as reported three days ago.

The NDP Caucus distributed brochures in the electoral district of Dartmouth South during a by-election, incurring costs of just over $2000. In addition to signing a compliance agreement acknowledging that they had violated the Election Act, the NDP Caucus Office has agreed to reimburse the value of the ads.
